Devon Pamper Breaks At Downe
Downe Health Spa is located on the Hartland Peninsula in North Devon and is one of the South West’s finest health spas.
For a luxurious and relaxing Pamper Break, you can now combine a Pamper Day at Downe Health Spa with a short stay and create the ideal One Night Pamper Break, Two Night Pamper Break, Three Night Pamper Break or Pamper Weekend. Each one of these Spa Breaks is a lovely romantic break or a perfect opportunity for friends or adult family members to spend time together.
The One Night Devon Pamper Break
The One Night Pamper Break at Downe comprises a Pamper Day at Downe Health Spa and one nights accommodation. Your Pamper Day provides for:
- all day use of the Gym and Spa,
- an Aromatherapy Body Massage,
- Lunch,
- soft drinks when required, and
- your being looked after for the Day
In other words, you are pampered for the day in our lovely Health Spa.
(If you wish, you can also add other therapies to the Pamper Day.)
At the end of the Pamper Day you are taken to your accommodation.
You are provided with a three course dinner.
A Continental Breakfast Basket is provided for the morning.
The cost of the One Night Pamper Break is £199 per person (minimum two people) (excluding Christmas, New Year and Easter).
The Two Night Devon Pamper Break
The Two Night Pamper Break at Downe comprises two nights accommodation and a Pamper Day at Downe Health Spa.
On your fist night at Downe you are provided with a three course dinner and a Continental Breakfast Basket for the morning.
Your Pamper Day provides for:
- all day use of the Gym and Spa,
- an Aromatherapy Body Massage,
- Lunch,
- soft drinks when required, and
- your being looked after for the Day.
In other words, you are pampered for the day in our lovely Health Spa.
(If you wish, you can also add other therapies to the Pamper Day.)
On your second night you are also provided with a three course dinner.
A Continental Breakfast Basket is provided for the second morning.
The cost of the Two Night Pamper Break is £279 per person (minimum two people), (excluding Christmas, New Year and Easter).
The Three Night Devon Pamper Break
The Three Night Pamper Break at Downe comprises three nights accommodation and a Pamper Day at Downe Health Spa.
On each of your three nights at Downe you are provided with a three course dinner. A Continental Breakfast Basket is provided for each of the three mornings.
Your Pamper Break includes one Pamper Day which provides for:
- all day use of the Gym and Spa,
- an Aromatherapy Body Massage,
- Lunch,
- soft drinks when required, and
- your being looked after for the Day.
In other words, you are pampered for the day in our lovely Health Spa.
(If you wish, you can also add other therapies to the Pamper Day.)
The cost of the Three Night Pamper Break is £359 per person (minimum two people), (excluding Christmas, New Year and Easter).
Single Supplement
The price of the One Night, Tw0 Night and Three Night Pamper Breaks is given per person with a minimum of two people. If one person wishes to come on the Breaks there is a Single Person Supplement of £50 for each of the breaks.
Designer Pamper Breaks
We are happy to create a Pamper Break to suit a client’s particular requirements. We can create a Pamper Break with one night’s accommodation and two Pamper Days or three nights’ accommodation and two Pamper Days and with any appropriate combination of therapies that the client wishes. We will quote a price for the Designer Pamper Break once we have agreed with the client their exact requirements.
Food at Downe
The Continental Breakfast Baskets provided in your cottage contain home made fruit salad, museli, traditionally made bread, home made marmalade, natural yoghurt, squeezed orange juice, butter, speciality teas and filter coffee. They are lovely Breakfast Baskets and put many four and five star hotels that we have stayed in to shame.
The 2010 menu for dinner is as follows:
Starters
- Country Pate (Chicken Liver & Sage Pate topped with fruit chutney and a mulled wine glaze)
- Salmon Mousse (Salmon terrine wrapped in smoked salmon with soft centre of smoked salmon mousse and cream cheese)
- Baked Seafood Cobbler (A pot of haddock, salmon and prawns in a white wine, leek and mushroom sauce, topped with a cheese cobble crumble)
- Carrot and Coriander Soup
- Broccoli & Stilton Soup
Entrees
- Liver & Onion Casserole (Lamb’s liver of course! Welsh lamb only.)
- Baked Salmon (Salmon fillets cooked in butter & lemon)
- Beef in a brandy, cream and peppercorn Sauce
- Beef Lasagne
- Chicken Casserole (Fillet of chicken in white wine sauce with courgettes, mushrooms, tomatoes, leeks and herbs)
- Luxury Fish Pie (Hake, salmon, king prawns, smoked haddock in a creamy leek sauce topped with mashed potato & grated cheddar cheese).
- Brie, Courgette & Almond Crumble (Creamed brie sauce with layers of potato and courgette topped with breadcrumbs, almonds, and sesame seed crumble).
- Butternut Squash and Ginger Bake (Butternut squash and spinach in a tomato and ginger sauce topped with breadcrumbs, cheese and parsley).
- Leek Risotto
Potatoes
- Potato Gratin (Potato with cheese & butter – a bit like Dauphinoise Potato.)
- Cheesy Mash Potatoes
- Duchesse Potatoes.
Vegetables
- Roasted Root Vegetables (A selection of in season root vegetables and peppers)
- Carrot and Onions (Cooked in butter)
- Traditional Braised Red Cabbage with Apples
- Mixed Green Salad (A mixture of fresh green salad from our garden).
Desserts
- Black Currant Surprise
- Lemon Posset
- Fresh Fruit Salad
- Syrup Sponge Pudding
- Chocolate Sponge Pudding
Curry Supper
We also offer a curry supper as an alternative to the above three course meal to those on a Pamper Break.
The Curry Supper consists of :
- your choice of one of the following dishes for each guest : Beef Madras OR Chicken Tikka Masala OR Lamb Rogan Josh OR Sweet Potato, Chick Pea & Spinach Curry OR Vegetable Tikka Masala OR Vegetable Balti. (e.g if there are two guests they could choose to have a Beef Madras AND a Vegetable Balti)
- your choice of Cardomon Rice (cooked with cardamon & gloves) OR Plain Rice,
- Plain Dahl, and
- Mango Chutney.
Location
Located on the magical Hartland Peninsula in North Devon and overlooking the Atlantic, Downe Health Spa makes a perfect location for a Pamper Break. It is idyllic and a gentle walk to the coast (no more that a mile away looking West) is the perfect end tthe perfect day.
